Extraordinary 6.25x4.5 photocard of the only photograph taken during the most important event in the history of powered flight, December 17, 1903 at 10:35 AM, showing Orville Wright taking off in the face of a 27 mile-per-hour wind, covering 120 feet and remaining aloft 12 seconds, the world's first powered, sustained, and controlled flight, taken by John T. Daniels, one of the witnesses, using Orville's camera. Autographed on image by Orville Wright. Crease (repaired) on lower left corner does not affect autograph or image. Lot includes First Edition copy of the Smithsonian Institution's hardbound book "The Wright Brothers: Heirs to Prometheus", heavily illustrated.
